Are you an order-taker or expert?

Here are 5 questions to ask yourself.

  1. Do you feel insecure when you first start a design project and think “what if I don’t design anything good?” “what if I don’t think of any great ideas?"

  2. Do your clients give you subjective feedback based on personal opinions? Example: “I hate green. Can we just make the logo blue?”

  3. Do a lot of your clients take on the art director role?

  4. Are most of the projects you work on not portfolio-worthy?

  5. Do you feel like you haven’t reached your creative potential in the projects and clients you’re getting?

If you answered “yes” to 3 or more of the above questions, you may still be an order-taker.
